What the what?
I’m not sure what happened that so many of you decided to KIK me at the same time, but let me assure you: I am well, happy, and busier than a … too busy to be very clever.
I am very grateful that you think fondly of me, and if I should remember later in the week I shall respond to you personally, but for now I hope this post will do.
xoxo

Wah Jhi Le Yihm By Ulali From Smoke Signals Soundtrack (by TheLakotaWinds)
I have been absent from Tumblr and do not anticipate a return any time soon. I am in a transformative period, and thus my family is too. We are working to reduce our wants for material stuffs and to increase our love and acceptance of those we may not agree with on any or all levels. Especially with this being an election year, I have found the internet social sites to be… limited in the amount of assistance they provide with these kinds of ideals.
If you miss me and want to talk I’d love to hear from you. Kik me at yoolieboolie. If not, I’ll still think fondly of you from time to time.
Peace, love, and light,
Julie

“Pay no mind to what they say. Doesn’t matter anyway-hey-hey-hey!”
As I find myself singing the GoGo’s I am also feeling a need for some hibernation. A little siesta and some introspection. I’ll be posting less in the coming days. May you find renewal in the crispness of Winter.
¡Hasta luego mi compadres!

Unrequited
Once upon a time, well over a decade ago (maybe even two) my favorite movie was Immortal Beloved. If you do not recall or haven’t seen it, Gary Oldman is Ludvig von Beethoven. The film centers around a love letter in which he addresses his “Immortal Beloved” and just who that might be.
In the final scene, his would-be soulmate is struck by the passage of time and opportunity and feels the full pangs of their unrequited love.
Around this time, I came to decide that a love unrequited is the purest and deepest love- one that is held without any promise of return. An untequited love is not experienced by choice, it is something that captivates the heart and won’t turn it loose.
Many people, I feel, are scared to death of this kind of love. The inevitable heartache of not being loved back stops them from loving, from reaching out and socializing on any meaningful level.
I decided to do something different though. I have recently realized that I cultivate these relationships of one-sided appreciation. I wanted to learn to love fearlessly, for I believed in the pop culture icons who sang and told of love being the only thing you get more of by giving it away.
I’m coming to understand that “getting more” doesn’t mean that the love is returned by those you give it to. It seems instead that, like a rosebush, the more you harvest and get rid of the excess, the more and heartier the production for more harvesting.
I hope I do not make you feel awkward with my one-sided adulation. Some of you do return it, and I thank you a thousand times over. For those who do not or can not, please know that I hold no ill will or bad feelings for that lack of return. Sometimes I see the lack of return as a need for me to feed more love, affection, and admiration. Sometimes I am afraid of coming off like a stalker. That’s when I stop.
I will always look for places to put my love. I am becoming less and less interested if it is returned.

He’s so tiny and cute. Then he points to the crust of his toast and tells me, “Dis my shotgun! Me gon’ kill e’rybo’y.”
No, sweetie. Killing everybody is rude.

No matter where I put the hamper, his clothes always end up on the floor beside it.
